About
Welcome
to my Digital Pedagogies in Secondary Schools blog!
I’m a
secondary education student at Central Queensland University CQU), with
Geography and Business as my subject minors. As a pre-service teacher, my
motivation to be a high school educator stems from my passion for inclusive
education, particularly amongst students with disabilities, Indigenous learners
and students with complex needs and situations.
For the
past three years I was living in Far North Queensland with my family. My
husband is a secondary teacher, graduating in 2017, so we moved up north to undertake
his regional experience in an area with a high Indigenous student population. I
was lucky enough to work as a Teacher’s Aide in the Special Education department
whilst living there, and absolutely loved it! It embedded my motivation to become
a teacher. Whilst there I didn’t see a great deal of ICT use, so I’m really
interested in the course content of this Digital Pedagogies unit.
We are
now living back on the Sunshine Coast, and I’m pumped to get this degree done. I
am here to learn how best to support my students, by applying a diverse range
of pedagogies and styles, in order to build relationships, value, engagement,
confidence and autonomy.
Thanks for stopping by!
- Bec :)
